How to choose an LED strip connector
An LED strip connector can make a COB strip layout easier to join, extend or route without soldering, but the connector must match the strip. BrittLite's current range covers 2-pin single-colour COB strips in 8mm and 10mm widths, 4-pin RGB COB strips in 10mm, and 6-pin RGBCCT COB strips in 12mm. The collection includes straight strip-to-strip joins, strip-to-power connections, 45-degree corner pieces, T connectors and a multi-function option.
Before ordering, check four details on the strip or its product specification: the lighting type, number of contacts, strip width and the connection you need to make. A connector that is physically the right width can still be unsuitable if its pin layout does not match the strip's copper contacts.
Single-colour, RGB and RGBCCT strips use different contact arrangements. Choose 2-pin, 4-pin or 6-pin products to match the listed strip type.
The live range includes 8mm and 10mm single-colour connectors, 10mm RGB connectors and 12mm RGBCCT connectors.
Use straight joins for continuous runs, strip-to-power versions for a wired connection, and angle or T pieces when the layout changes direction.
Confirm the strip, connector, controller and driver specifications together before installation. Similar-looking parts are not automatically interchangeable.
Connector types in the BrittLite range
The table below reflects the formats currently listed in this category. It is designed as a quick shortlist, but the individual product page should remain the final compatibility check.
| Strip format | Connector specification | Available connection styles |
|---|---|---|
| Single-colour COB | 2 pin, 8mm | Straight strip-to-strip, strip-to-power and 45-degree angle options |
| Single-colour COB | 2 pin, 10mm | Straight strip-to-strip, strip-to-power, 45-degree angle and T connector options |
| RGB COB | 4 pin, 10mm | Straight strip-to-strip, strip-to-power and 45-degree angle options |
| RGBCCT COB | 6 pin, 12mm | Straight strip-to-strip and strip-to-power options |
| COB layout projects | 8-in-1 multi-function connector | T-junctions, 45-degree angles, cross connections and strip-to-wire layouts |
Solderless LED strip connectors for cleaner project planning
A solderless LED strip connector is useful when you want a quick mechanical connection between compatible components. The products in this category are listed as solder-free, including the straight, corner and strip-to-power formats. A clip on LED strip connector can also make a connection easier to inspect or replace than a permanent soldered joint.
That convenience does not remove the need for accurate preparation. Cut the strip only at its marked cutting point, keep the copper contacts clean and align the contacts with the connector pins. Make sure the strip sits squarely inside the fitting before closing it. Test the connection before fixing the complete run into a profile or permanent position.
Choosing an 8mm LED strip connector
BrittLite lists 8mm, 2-pin connectors for compatible single-colour COB strips. Options include straight strip-to-strip joins, strip-to-power connections and 45-degree angle pieces. There is also a reusable 8mm, 2-pin COB connector listing intended for layouts such as stairways and multi-direction connections.
Do not select by width alone. An 8mm LED strip connector in this range is specifically described for 2-pin single-colour COB tape. An RGB or RGBCCT strip needs a different number of electrical contacts, even if another physical measurement appears similar.
Plan the connection before you order
Check whether it is single-colour COB, RGB COB or RGBCCT COB.
Match the strip to the listed 2-pin, 4-pin or 6-pin connector format.
Choose the exact 8mm, 10mm or 12mm connector stated for the strip.
Count straight joins, powered ends, angled corners, branches and cross points.
For the rest of the installation, browse compatible LED strip lights, select the appropriate supply from the LED driver range, and compare control options in LED controllers. LED profiles can help organise and finish a suitable strip installation.
LED strip connector FAQs
Which connector do I need for a single-colour COB strip?
The current BrittLite single-colour COB connector range uses 2-pin fittings. Measure whether your compatible strip is 8mm or 10mm, then choose the required straight, powered, angled or T connection.
Can I use a 2-pin connector with an RGB strip?
No. The listed RGB COB connectors use a 4-pin, 10mm format. Match the contact count and width stated for the RGB strip instead of using a single-colour connector.
What is the difference between strip-to-strip and strip-to-power?
A strip-to-strip connector joins two compatible tape sections. A strip-to-power connector links the compatible strip to wire for the next part of the circuit.
Do I need a particular 24V LED strip connector?
The connector listings here are organised by strip type, pin count, width and join style, not by a separate 24V connector category. Confirm the strip's voltage and driver separately, while matching the connector to the strip's physical contacts and stated format.
Are these clip-on connectors solder-free?
The products currently listed in this category are described as solder-free. Follow the individual product details and make sure the strip is cut, aligned and seated correctly before testing the connection.
